ACTIVITIES at guesthouse

The "Moulin de Barigné" was the largest grain mill on the Vègre, a tributary of the Sarthe.The origins can be retraced to the 15th century.
The existing buildings date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The complex consists of 3 buildings: the MÜLLER HOUSE, the former mill and the guesthouse, the barn conversion which was rebuilt in the 19th century to a second grain mill. The complete old structure and the water wheel with its mechanism remained intact even after their conversion into living accommodation by the current owners. Until Jahre1980 the mill was still in operation.


In the immediate surroundings can be a lot of old, picturesque villages and towns reach, shows the old France.
Besides castles, churches and monasteries, there are also many buildings from the Roman period to visit (Solesmes, St. Suzanne, Asnières, Jumelains).
The capital of the department of Sarthe, Le Mans is about 20 km away. The medieval town with one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals of France's popular film location for historical films such as "Bergerac" with G. Depardieu, but also for a film like "24h du Mans" with Steve McQueen.
